I love canning

every aspect of it.  I like picking growing buying deciding everything about all the steps.  I think I should have been a pioneer.  Today everyone of my jars sealed the first time around.  For those that do canning you know this a  good thing.   Now I can just sit and smile at my jars on the table   Oh, in case you didn't know its Antipasto.

  2. I have made Jelly before. Ilove how it makes the house smell when your making it. I have never made a tomatoe based product. for some reason I am afraid it will get botulism. lol. do you boil the jars first, then put them in the oven?? i have never seen this method of sterilizing.

  3. I wash then pour boiling water into the jars. Then I put them in the oven to keep warm and further sterlilize them till ready to add the stuff. I also process the jars in the oven rather then the boiling water method. Learned it from my mommy and we both have never died yet... I also can salsa this way.

  4. That looks way to much like work. Buying it in the supermarket seems so much easier. My mom canned everything from jelly to veg when we were kids and I love eating it through the long cold winter!

Pickle on dudett! Amber raises her hands in a peace sign!
