7 more sleeps

The countdown continues.   Most of our stuff is packed and I think I have all the other stuff under control.  I don't like the final week before we head out somewhere cause I can't sleep....I lie there thinking and thinking and thinking.  I am a very organised travellor but I still think there is something I must be missing.  What can I do I am a walking tired grouchy zombie?

morning blogsters

It is Friday, the end of the first week back at school.  It's funny how the holidays have just melted away in our memories.  Like the last shortbread cookie I ate out of the freezer.  Have I ever told you about my shortbread cookies?  It's from a recipe passed down in our family for years.  One is only allowed to make them for xmas and at no other time of the year.  These delectable creations are the finest on the planet.  I have yet to taste a better shortbread cookie in all my 40 + years.  I wonder if a lighting bolt would strike me from the sky if I made them say for Easter?  Maybe old granny royer would burn my taste buds off my tongue so as I could never enjoy them again.  Traditions they sure are engrained from us at an early age.  I would think life would be a little sadder and less fulfilling if we didn't get to look forward to something and anticipate hoping the memory is all we anticipated and remembered it to be.

Chow baby cocktail hour tonite oh yeah!!!

Last day of Xmas vacation

Tomorrow the kids go back to school.  They have been off since the 21'st of December.  I am going to miss lazing around in the morning sipping coffee.  Now it will be army drill sargent time.  With one bathroom and 5 people getting ready it can be quite hectic.   I sure didn't miss the making lunches part.  Well at least I only have to do it for 18 school days then I am off.   I can't believe how close we are to leaving,  24 more sleeps and I will be winging it to sunny Florida then on the boat to the Bahamas.  and guess  what my dear friends, guess who is going to meet me there????  Yep you got it right the Divine one.....this will be our third time meeting up in the Bahamas...I can hardly wait....

More good news. Today I found an on the tap Brita water filter for half price.  It's really funny cause I was thinking of buying one to bring to the Bahamas and lo and behold I walked into Walmart this morning and there was a  big cart of mark-downs and right in front of my nose was exactly what I was looking for.

happy Sunday
