random things and possibly repeats of previous blogs. I don't know how people remember what they blogged before. My short term memory sucks and I keep forgetting to get it checked.
1.Last night before bed I asked the kids if they needed anything signed for school the next day. No was the resounding answer. Well Nevada comes to me while I'm reading in bed and needs her planner signed. This morning Kaikoa needs a note to hand an assignment in late. So on Kaikoa's note I write "Kaikoa sucks" and sign it. He takes it away and is just about to put it in his backpack when he reads it...lmao I wrote him a new note.
2.Our oldest turns 18 on Tuesday. I'm not sure if its the maturity thing but we sure are getting along better then we ever have. We have always had a good rapport, but now we seem to communicate more. He does a little of TMI though...
3.All week I have been canning and freezing fruit. My hands look like crap and my fingers are all stained. I usually soak them in Real-lemon to get the stains out. Unfortunately none of the stores here have any. Apparently a crop freeze last winter took all the lemons.
4.Today is the first cloudy day we have had since school started.
5.I started reading the most awesome book last night. It's hard to believe I took it out of an elementary school library.
6.Hairball and his friend Fatso went fishing the other day and caught a salmon. This is the first fish they caught this year so they divided it up. The freezer is sadly empty.
7.My winter clothes are fitting alot looser then last year. Yeah two thumbs up.
8.No plans of yet for any winter escapes to warm tropical places.
9.Tonite I meet the teachers at Kaikoa's school. They usually serve thick warmish coffee and store bought cookies. I say if they want higher attendance make good coffee and let the home-ec class cook up some tasty treats.
10.Still have all the material sitting in the closet waiting to be cut up for the quilt. I have found a pattern and really should get on the project.
11.Been wishfully thinking I had been able to go to Vegas and meet up with Amber and Lisa. I know I could have shown them how to drink all day at the pool and carry on into the night after. 'Party on dude's excellent'....
12.Harrison and I saw a lady must have been in her 70's wearing a tube top downtown. EWW there is something very wrong with that. Although she wasn't as saggy as I would have been. Maybe duct-tape who knows?
13.Well here we are at the end. Happy weekend or whatever. I have driving to do tonite and tomorrow nite so won't start the festivities till Saturday.
1. What would be fitting is for him to have kept both notes and turned the first one in.
ReplyDelete2. Sounds like a seperate blog itself. Do tell, our teenagers should be CEO's because they think they know everything.
3. So what do you do now when life doesn't give you lemons?
4. No more nude sunbathing?
5. Did anyone notice she didn't say she checked it out from the library.
6. With the names you give them, wonder why they go fishing all the time. LOL
7. Two thumbs will hold them up, but a belt would work better and you could use your thumbs for other things.
8. The governor's mansion in Alaska may be available soon, wait until November and look into it. I hear she has a tanning bed.
9. Did it ever occur to you that they serve the sludge coffee because they really don't want your attendance or input?
10. and yet here you sit BSing when you should be doing something useful.
11. Not getting your quilt done still.
12. Should have taken a picture, it may have discouraged her from wearing it in public again. Harrison could also have pin-up for his wall.
13. No work makes for excellent weekend.
I just love when Carol blogs something I can have fun with!
I know what you mean about not always remembering what I've blogged about... I try not to be too repetitive in my topics, but that's sometimes a challenge, since I tend to basically focus on work and Team In Training.
ReplyDeleteDo you think your kids have inherited your sense of humor? That could be very helpful throughout the rest of their lives. :-)
Kerry as per usual your thoughts and responses were eerily along my lines of thinking. That is very very scary. thanks for making me laugh..
ReplyDeleteSo far the two older ones are right on track....The younger one, well the jury is still out, but she sure isn't as gullible as her other 8 year old friends...
ReplyDeleteThroughout most of my childhood, there were very few of my friends who understood and appreciated my dad's sense of humor. I always used that ability as an indicator about whether or not my friends would be able to "keep up" with things.
ReplyDeleteNot being gullible is a good thing, but life is far more fun with a twisted sense of humor. LOL!
1. You are quite the clever (but evil) Mom.
ReplyDelete2. I'd guess part of it is because you treat him like a responsible adult (at least to his face) - so he tries to respond the same way. I know exactly what you mean about the TMI>
3 Quite seriously - do you want me to send you some
7.Good for you.....all that yard work is paying dividends.
8.That's a shame - I guess I'll just have to come brave the cold and visit you at home for once :)
9. Maybe they don't want more attendance.
11.Nah - you're too frugal to be paying what they probably were for drinks ;).
12. What Kerry wrote about that one can't be topped, lol...I won't even try.
Well as it turned out this year they had a family barbeque beforehand. Free burger's hotdogs drinks everything. BUT!!! my son neglected to bring the notice home so I got there just as everything was cleaned up and didn't even get stale coffee and store bought cookies. They did comment that this year was the biggest attendance ever. duh, I wonder why?
ReplyDelete1. next time he asks for a note, write a novel. explain anything you want to explain to the teacher and somewhere in there, tell the teacher somehting funny about your kid who is asking for a note. thay wont make that mistake again. or maybe they will.
ReplyDelete4. we are jsut starting to get clouds. i wore long pants for the first time this summer yesterday.
6. crap. they probably caught the last one. sorry folks who like salmon, it is now extinct.
10. get that cutter rolling and get started. i wanna see some progress.
11. i could have drank on into the night, but we had to eat and there wasnt aplace close enough. also, there was a child and one of us had to be responsible.

Amber puts her tube top back in the drawer and decides to wear it another day when Carol is not around!
