Blogging 101

Blogging for beginners.  Is there such a course and where could one sign up?  I often wonder how one comes about in the blogging business.  I was introduced by Em who invited me to read her blog. I am not sure if I would have come across the avenue of self expression on my own.  With so many social networking sites out there I find this one reveals a little more of ones personal self.  I think I enjoy this site more then the others. I'm not saying I don't mind on occasion playing the mindless quizzes of Facebook comparing my answers with friends.  And of course we can't even talk about Packrat I am on day three of the 12 step program.  I'm not sure what I am saying here maybe just that I am glad I found all you people on here and have had a glimpse into your lives.

  1. Well, it goes without saying that you and your family have added a lot to my life. As for the Packrat 12 step program - it's not so hard when they don't have much out there for us to collect, eh?

  2. I rather like the group of friends -- and the level of interaction -- on Multiply. I'm not into Facebook nor MySpace, probably because I don't do much with music or videos, and am not all that interested in mindless quizzes (well, unless I get on a roll with Blogthings!).

Not a day goes by that I am not curious about what my friends here are up to, and fortunately, everyone plays right along, posting content I find interesting, uplifting, funny, intelligent, wise, silly, informative... I'm sure there other more productive things I could do with the time I spend wandering through my friends' posts here, but my need for connection and interaction is definitely fulfilled here.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

  3. I came across the avenue on my own out of need to talk things out in a difficult part of my life. One by one i met new friends, and they all mean so much to me. I remember the time we sent everyone to your page. that was over on 360. the folks i have met here are so different from the folks we meet in our real life. we have a choice here, and i am happy with all the choices that have been made.
i really cant do the quizes and games. i just dont like that part, so this is perfect for me.

  4. I agree. I love the content on a blog - it can be funny, thoughtful, insightful, outrageous, or just the fun of describing day to day life. Once you join a social network site and visit other people, there is not much to do. Give me good blogs any day. It has been a pleasure getting to know you better. Heck, with blogs, I've even learned a thing or two about my own sister and good friends. Kind of cool.

  5. I found blogging on 360 by accident. lol But, I do like this medium better. I just started out, and still do, blog just for my own enjoyment...not so much for others. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the fact that I have great friends here that stop in and read what I babble on about...but if I ever get to the point where I am no longer getting satisfaction from blogging, then I will walk away...either forever or until the mood strikes me again.

  6. I also found blogging by accident, I was searching for a widow's site to chat with people who knew what I was going through. I found so much more on 360 and now Multiply. What started as a journal became an online community of wonderful people, who are now my friends. I'm glad I found you too, ((hugs))

  7. Awwww shucks....Amber wriggles her toes around in the dirt like an embarrassed child...what a nice blog! It was hard getting to know you because of that freakish looking cat on your background but once I got past that....Kablammm! What a funny enjoyable person to blog with!

Day 3 of Packrat? I have been away from it for 16 days...The sweats and the trembling only stoped 48 hours ago!
