No preamble here I will dive right in....
1. Nevada's in the school garden program, yesterday was her first inspection but the slugs had left nothing to inspect...Poor Nevy, the lady was really nice and gave her points for no weeds and a well placed layout of the rows...
2.In the last week I had two sets of company come that I hadn't seen for a very very long time. It was great to see my niece who was travelling with her bf. Nine years can really change a person. lol
3.Bacon wrapped perogies on the barbecue, I can't say enough about these tasty little morsels of culinary delight...
4.Planning a trip at the end of the summer. I love the excitement of where to go where to stay..
5.About number 4, has anyone ever been to Yosemite and have any good ideas for a day trip through the park?
6.I haven't been watching The world cup on tv but have been keeping up to date online.

7.At Harrison's work they have been laying off scores of people weekly. We never know when he leaves to work if he will be coming home unemployed. It's rather unsettling.
8.I have switched my morning coffee to three quarters decaf, and one quarter regular and I find I don't notice the difference. The flavour is still the same and I'm glad I've cut down on the caffeine.
9.Saturday we are having a mini grad reunion at a local pub. I am committed to attending but not looking forward to sitting in a smelly pub. I wish they could have found a place with some outdoor seating.
10.This year I have been doing the majority of the yard work as the hubby has been sick. I am loving it. The yard is looking pretty awesome as well.
11.Back to number 2 the other visitors I had were old friends from California. I hadn't seen them for about fourteen years. They had never met Nevada and the last time they seen the boys Kaikoa was still in diapers.
12.For some reason my nails right now are looking pretty awesome. They are long and strong. Even with the heavy gardening I am pretty proud of them. I am not going to bother with nail polish just look at them in their natural state.
13. I am in dire need of a new pair of runners. I wore the soles right through on my last pair. I have only had them for about 6 months. The tops still look nice and stylish and I'm kind of ticked how they wore out so fast.
Well thats much ado about nothing....happy last week of spring.
I remember when I used to harras you about updating your page. My page is so old, i dont even know whats on it. lol.
ReplyDeleteAbout Yosemite, Bring your camera with lots of disk space and battery life. there are a few roads you can drive through, and many many paths you can walk. If you want, you can even take a raft trip down the river that flows through it. i dont know how long that takes, but it would be fun. its not a huge river. We went one day and took alex and his friend from oklahoma and spent most of the day walking the many paths and taking pictures. it is breathtaking there. From my house,it only takes about two hours to get there.
I bought a pair of those toning shoes, the ones that are round on the bottom. after a day of walking in them, my ass and the back of my legs were screaming. the good kind though, if that is at all possible.
I've been thinking of buying some of those toning shoes but they sure look silly...What brand did you get, Lisa . Forgive me Carol for hijacking your blog. I'm glad they gave Nevy some credit - it's not her fault you refuse to share your beer with those slugs ;). Congrats on the nails...I limit myself to 1 cup of caffeinated coffee in the morning - the rest has to be decaf.
ReplyDeleteAnd I will definitely find a way to ride with you from Vegas up to wherever I can get a cheap flight home....cause I would love to see Yosemite....and if its only two hours from Modesto....hmmmm.......
I bought mine at payless shoe source, they are champion brand fitness shoes. I finally remembered the part of my legs that hurt so good, its the hamstrings, which are connected to the thighs which may fix a moving issue. if you wear them with your jeans, they may not show as much. you get used to the difference really fast though, and I have seen a lot of ladies wearing them in a lot of different styles.
ReplyDeleteme too but from what I'v been reading it seems like not a good time to be going into the park with the massive crowds. but either way I will let you know what's up when I book the airline tickets...
ReplyDeleteWell there is a remedy to that isn't there?
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll be here in Sogagon, doing chemo, not able to go anywhere...waaa....just watchng my hair fall out...inbetween dialysis treatments. I'm gonna have a lovely summer...NOT. Especially if it stays this cold, 54 degrees and rain. It snowed yesterday forty miles away from here. Grr...The year of the green tomatoes....
ReplyDeleteAh but just think how miserable you'd be if you were still in Vegas having to go through all of that in 120 degree temps. No, its certainly not going to be a lovely summer....but the weather will improve eventually, it always does.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't the best time - but it's still better than no time. I'm sure weekdays are better than weekends. PLUS it looks like a lot of California schools actually open mid August :).
ReplyDeleteNow you've got me humming the kneebone connected to the thighbone and the thighbone connected to the hipbone.....I'll check them out, thanks :).
ReplyDeleteI think I'd rather be in Vegas. At least it is warm. It's really cold here.
ReplyDeleteI agreee Brenda we sure need to warm up here on the west coast.
