thursday thirteen home sweet home

Just stuff you may want or not want to know.

1. We flew home on Tuesday May 6.  Our flight left at 6:45 eastern time so we had to be up at 4AM to catch the shuttle at 5. We didn't get home till 7:30 PM PST.  So by the time we went to bed we had been up for about 21 hours.

2.  Nevada got sick in the Atlanta airport and spewed all over a few ladies legs as we ran for the bathroom.  It's amazing how they quickly let her butt in line when they were hit with the collateral damage.  She spewed again on the plane before take-off but we had the barf bags ready.  The flight crew were really helpful and she fell asleep shortly after and all was good.

3.I packed all out coats and didn't know which of the 7 luggage's they were in so we froze our butts off all the way home from the Seattle airport.

4. I drove for the first time in over three months and it seemed like I had never quit.  I guess its like riding a bus you just get right back into it.  The price of gas sure shocked the crap out of me.

5. I missed all my tulips, daffodils and magnolia blooming.  The grass in the back yard was about a foot tall but at least said oldest son mowed the front lawn( the day we were to arrive home).

6. The house was in good shape, Harrison had even cleaned the bathrooms and put fresh sheets on our beds.  What a good boy.  There was no food in the fridge though.

7. I did laundry yesterday for about 12 hours.  Everything is washed dried and folded but I still have to put a couple stacks away.  I want to get rid of a bunch of old and tired clothes but the pack rats won't let me get rid of anything.

8. My birthday was last Sunday and it was great celebrating it in a warm and sunny place.

9.If your ever in Fort Lauderdale you have to take the water taxi.  It's the best deal out there.  You get unlimited passage all day for only $13. www.watertaxi.com

10.I was in grocery heaven yesterday.  Having been on the island for the past three months with exhorbant prices and poor quality produce,  I filled the cart with fruit and vegetables.  I got two gallons of milk for over a dollar less then I spent on the over $8 gallon I bought the last week in the Bahamas.

11. Today I am back wearing jeans, shirt, socks, and a jacket in the house.  No showing off my tan as the only thing showing is my hands and face.

12. I am going to have salmon for supper.  Our freezer is full of salmon and I sure missed having it while we were away.

13.Nevada went to school today and she was so excited all the kids surrounded her and were commenting on how tall she had grown.  I think she sprouted up about 4 inches while we were gone.  I know all her shoes don't fit or her jeans.  I am going to try to put off buying new jeans til after the summer as why buy new clothes for the last weeks of school.

  1. Poor Carol......back to cold yucky weather. I agree with you about new clothes since school is almost over - the salmon sounds nice - and good for Harrison mowing some of the grass and cleaning the bathrooms.

Don't you wonder why he put fresh sheets on your bed, though ::)

  4. I said 12 hours of laundry not 12 loads lol... said oldest kid didn't wash any of his clothes for a week. We had wet swim stuff and dirty stuff mixed in with the clean so everything was kind of stanky.
