to enjoy the yard. We did miss most of the bulbs blooming and the marigolds but the rest is in its glory. Yesterday I weeded for about 3 hours. Today I can barely move my legs. I can bend down very slowly but forget about getting back up again. We have almost an acre here and its very time consuming. I had to buy gas for the lawn mower, I put in $20. and it barely gave me 3/4 of a can. I am thinking of getting a goat. Just kidding we aren't allowed goats here in the city. Alot of people don't believe that we can grow a Palm Tree us here in Canada but the picture is worth a thousand words. About the middle of November we wrap the little sucker in burlap sacks then wrap that with thick poly. We put a light bulb inside and when it is really cold we turn the light on. Every year it gets harder and harder. Usually there is alot of cussing and swearing. But in the spring it is worth the effort.
Happy May long weekend.
Awesome pics! :) I just love your flowers and trees.
ReplyDeleteLOL...isn't it sheep not goats that mow lawns well? LMAO!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for the palm tree....who knew...
Love your flowers and shurbs. Looks like an aweful lot of work!
Loved the slide show!
Sheep??? never heard of that one for lawn cutting maybe some other kinky use...lol
ReplyDeleteI think you are refering to Sheep Shaggers! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYeah....sheep for mowing the lawn. Thats what some of these stately homes here still use!
What a beautiful yard. That is a lot of work. We have a huge palm in our from yard that started ina 10 inch pot. It is now about 20 feet tall. I think we will have to rip it out sometime in the future. I dont know. You could say the goat is a pet and you are going totally green and the environmentalist should praise you. the peta folks will make a day for you. Save a goat/sheep carless day. you will be queen. yea,
